Pompompurin is a character created by the Japanese company Sanrio in 1996. He is a friendly golden retriever with a distinctive brown beret. Pompompurin (often called Purin) was born on April 16th and is known for his calm nature, love of milk and soft items, and his interest in "Purin Aerobics."

Pompompurin's Friends:

• Muffin: A hamster, Pompompurin's best friend, with whom he often goes for walks.
• Scone: A mouse.
• Bagel: A squirrel.
• Custard: A bird.

Media Presence: In 2001, two original video games featuring Pompompurin were released. In 2014, a Pompompurin café opened in Tokyo, followed by other branches. Pompompurin ranked first in Sanrio character rankings in 1997, 2015, and 2016.

Pompompurin continues to be one of the most popular and beloved characters from Sanrio, appearing in various merchandise, multimedia projects, and themed cafés worldwide.
