Dobby is a fictional character in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. He is a house-elf who initially serves the Malfoy family. Dobby is introduced in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, where he is portrayed as a slave-like creature who is mistreated by his masters, the Malfoys. However, Dobby is freed by Harry Potter, which marks the beginning of his journey to live a free and independent life.

Key Characteristics of Dobby:

• Appearance: Dobby is small, with large bat-like ears and green eyes. He has a thin, ragged body, and usually wears a piece of cloth or a sock as a symbol of his freedom.
• Personality: Dobby is kind, loyal, and has a strong sense of morality. He often speaks in the third person and shows a deep respect for Harry Potter, whom he considers his hero.
• Abilities: As a house-elf, Dobby possesses magical abilities, including the power to perform tasks with great speed and precision, as well as to teleport.

• Death: Dobby dies in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows while rescuing Harry and his friends from Malfoy Manor. He is killed by Bellatrix Lestrange’s knife, but he dies a free elf, having found dignity in his final moments.
